I first came upon word processing while working in Oxford about 1980. This seems about a hundred years ago and since then there have been huge changes. I always felt that this was a potentially radical way in which information was stored, processed and transmitted. Not wrong there then.

Part of my working life was in teaching and, about ten years ago, I thought that I could use whatever skills I had from that to help others to come to terms with this new technology and spent some time as a volunteer with Active Age. Now I do what I can at Leamington and Kenilworth Libraries and still get a kick from the moment when someone realises that they have an email address and know how to use it.
